Friends of Africa. - This web page is dedicated to people who have made or are currently
making positive efforts to promote and develop the African continent.
- These include politicians and policy makers, superstars/ celebrities,
the medical and health sector professionals, the international news
media, philantropists and other categories of people in Europe, America,
etc.
- The list, itself, is inexhaustive. Positionof on the list is not by
importance or merit.

Contributions are welcome from the public.
If you know any international personalities who should be included
on this list, please contact us.
- Our aim is to show appreciation of the role that the international
community is playing in the promotion and development of the African
continent.
- This can also have a multiplier effect of motivating more people internationally
to understand the problems of Africa, and to provide help in their
own way.
- Please note that Africa is not begging for help. Rather, it is asking
the international community to understand the root causes of the problems,
and the need to provide help.

As Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, she is actively involved in
helping African nations both politically and economically.
Bill Clinton:
Retired President of America, who has great passion for political,
economic and human rights problems in African.
Toni Blair:
Retired Prime Minister of Britain; has great passion for African political,
economic and human rights problems. He helped to end the brutal rebel
war in Sierra Leone in 2002.
Gordon Brown:
Former
British Finance Minister , now the Prime Minister of Britain. He has
contributed greatly in helping to fight poverty in Africa.
Jack Straw:
British Foreign Secretary visits Darfur, Sudan.
Harriet Harman:
British MP and QC (Queens Councel), visits Sierra Leone
to understand African problems and recommend solutions.
Sir Bob Geldof: Organiser
of the world musical concert

Make History by making Poverty History", raising awareness for
African problems and the need to help the continent. He also helped
to raise the Ethiopian famine relief fund in 1985.
Bill Gates:
An American and the "richest man on planet Earth", whose family fortune
is rooted in the use of IT talents- i.e. computer software programming
and sales.
He
is
fighting malaria, HIV Aides, poverty, etc in Africa.
Prince Harry:
Member of the British Royal Family and second son of the
late Princess Diana, visits and helps children in Africa.
Michael Jackson:
Multi-talented and Artist of the
millennium, who used his talents in "We
are the World" musical concert in 1980s to raise funds for famine
refief in Africa.
Artists: July 2, 2005 Live8 Musical Concert.
They used their musical
talents to promote Africa, and also create awareness for the need
to help the continent out of poverty.
