Europe and
Africa can be
classified into three main periods: the Old
Order, Transitional
period and New
Order.
However, through the passing of time, a relationship of "give and take" naturally established itself. Europe is now "helping Africa", while Africa is also "giving back to Europe". Click the links below for more details: The Old Order: African slave trade was based on
ignorance and selfishness on the part of the African
collaborators.Human exploitation by the European slave traders, who found the trade lucrative. The Transitional Period: ![]() Resistances and hostilities were organised by some early African educated elites against colonial rule in Africa. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana supported organised and peaceful means. Thus, the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). Dr. Frantz Fannon in Algeria (North Africa) advocated organised violence. In South Africa and Zimbabwe, apartheid was part of colonial rule. Thus, the African liberation struggle was both violent and bloody. The New Order: Period of mutual respect and co-operation, leading to the promotion of global peace and development. Football is one global uniting force.
